Title: Empirical Line Lists and Absorption Cross Sections
        for Methane at High Temperature
Authors: Hargreaves R.J., Bernath P.F., Bailey J., Dulick M.

Description of contents: The files "CH4_HBBD_2015_T***.xsc" contains the cross
section files covering the same range as the line list (Table 3). The
"T***" gives temperature in degrees Celcius. The same 8 temperatures as
described in Table 2 are used. These CH4 cross sections are provided in
the standard HITRAN cross section format on a 0.01 cm-1 grid
(see Rothman et al. 2013 [2013JQSRT.130....4R]).

System requirements: None but user should be aware of the HITRAN format.
Each cross section file (CH4_HBBD_2015_T***.xsc) contains a header that
enables the files to be input. The first row contains the header with
  the following information:

  A20 - Chemical symbol
  F10.4 - Minimum wavenumber, nu_min (cm-1)
  F10.4 - Maximum wavenumber, nu_max (cm-1)
  I7 - Number of points, n
  F7.2 - Temperature (K)
  F6.1 - Pressure (Torr)
  E10.3 - Maximum cross section value (cm2 molecule-1)
  F5.3 - Resolution (cm-1)
  A15 - Common name
  4X - Blank
  A3 - Broadener gas
  I3 - Reference

The cross sections are then provided on a regular wavenumber grid spacing,
with each row containing ten values. The grid spacing (delta_n) is provided
  from the details in the header: delta_n = ( nu_max - nu_min ) / (n - 1).
These CH4 cross sections therefore contain 240,001 values with a grid
  spacing of 0.01 cm-1, between 2600 and 5000 cm-1.

Additional comments: Each cross section should only be used with the
corresponding line list at the appropriate temperature.
